Kidztown
WHY DOES THIS MINISTRY EXIST?
To
introduce 3, 4, and 5, year olds to the life
long adventure of walking and being Jesus’
disciples. To help
preschoolers discover Bible
truths as they learn to know, love and follow
Jesus Christ.
Kidztown, the
new children’s ministry center, is destined to
become the hub of children’s activity on our
campus. It’s an exciting venture, rising out of
a vision for excellence in ministry and
encompassing design worthy of an Architectural
Digest feature. The building reflects Trinity’s
tremendous
emphasis on community and family, at
a time in our society that is once again
becoming family-centered. It is a statement that
children are valued and they are a proper focus.
In fact, investment in Kidztown is the apex of
our current capital campaign. It is the
manifestation of the dreams of our body to
achieve excellence in all areas, for the glory
of Christ.
The preschool population is growing in
number. Kidztown will address this growth by
providing kid-designated space, richly infused
with imagination. Overall the building is
reminiscent of innocent childhood fantasy. The
welcome center has a round, stonework doorway,
through which all must pass. Immediately it is
noted that this is not a typical building on an
A/G campus. The shape and layout lend the
building to “stations”. There are wet craft,
eating, quiet reading and teaching stations. The
imagination station is a play area designed for
the younger children. A large meeting area,
complete with projection screen, lighting and
sound system, is a component of the building
that allows for many children to assemble for
group activity. A rock climbing wall and gross
motor area address the physical nature and needs
of our kids. Noah’s Ark is a staircase to the
second floor, where there are classrooms that
may be de-walled to create two large meeting
centers. A prominent, colorful slide (which
accommodates adults!) is seated within the
staircase. Downstairs is mainly for preschool at
first. According to Pastor Brian Griswold (“Griz”),
“Our aim is to provide excellent, God-honoring,
exciting space that kids want to be in. I want
it to engage them, so that church is a place
they enjoy and truly experience community. It is
a place where they can learn about God and
develop spiritually”. In the Children’s Ministry
division, we have nursery (ages 0-3), preschool
(ages 3-4), and kindergarten. Our first through
fifth grade children attend children’s church
and Sunday school. In the Children’s Ministry
